Little Man

Let's see... last time I posted was two weeks ago.. so, here's a run down of what's been going on in Charlie-Land.

1. Two month check-up. He's 14 lbs 2 oz 23 in long. He's in the 75% for height, 98% for weight and 97% for his head. He got his shots at the appointment as well. He did really well.. screamed bloody murder, but he still handled it like a pro. You'd cry too if you got three shots in your legs.

2. First plane ride/trip-- The trip back to the midwest went very well. He did great on the plane both ways-- although I think he enjoyed the trip there the best, since my boss was on the plane with us, and she's a massage therapist- so she gave charlie a massage the whole way there... talk about being spoiled!!!

3. First boat ride-- we went to the cabin one of the days we were back and Grandpa Tom took Charlie out on the boat!! He slept through the whole ride!!

4. First Wedding-- Congrats Crystal and Kyle.. The wedding was really nice. Charlie had a few melt-downs, but overall did really well, especially considering all the passing around that was taking place.

and last but not least....

5. Rolling Over-- Charlie can now roll from his tummy to his back :) He started doing this on Wednesday, the 26th!

Here is a family picture of us!

The Transition

Well, we survived me going back to work. I started back on Wednesday, and it was rough in the morning, but I came home at noon and saw Charlie (and Adam), and that helped. The rest of the week went fine. It's so nice having Adam home during the morning watching Charlie. I think they both enjoy the time together too.

This week I'll be working until 3 and coming home and then adam will go to work. Next week, Bre starts- she is a senior in High School, I work with her mom. She'll be coming to the house Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 2:30-5:15. It's so nice that Charlie doesn't have to go to daycare. We're very lucky.

Here are a few pictures of the little man. One is his 6 week photo and the other is during the bonfire we had Friday night.

Missing Him Already

I haven't even left for work yet and I already am missing my little man-- I'm just sitting here looking at him, and I don't want to leave!!! But, I have to, and like I said yesterday, he's in good hands with Daddy. It's just been a great 6 weeks with Charlie. I just love my little man. Here is a picture from yesterday

How Time Flies

Has it seriously been 6 weeks already??? That doesn't seem possible. I can't believe that today is my last day of maternity leave. Tomorrow I will be back at work. It's very bittersweet. Charlie will be in very good hands with Adam. It will be a great bonding experience for both Adam and Charlie, but I am going to miss the little guy. I've really enjoyed the last 6 weeks getting to know my little man.

We've turned a corner with the sleeping. He is now sleeping 4 hours at a time!! What a huge difference that makes!!! Makes Mommy and Daddy less tired and much happier!!

Charlie focuses more now too.. he follows toys and will stare for long periods of time. We've almost got him to smile too... soon!!!

I took him and got him weighed yesterday. My little man now weighs 11 lbs 14 oz!!!! No more weight problems for my chunky little monkey!!!

Here are some pictures of him playing in his crib yesterday

Charlie's First Ball Game

We took Charlie to Coors Field yesterday. It was his first ball game. He saw the Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. We took Uncle Kenny too. It was his first professional ball game as well!
Charlie did really well. here are some photos.

1 week old

So I'm finally getting a chance to sit down and update the blog, and check e-mail, etc. I feel like I don't have any time anymore-- which is fine, I'd rather be sitting on the couch holding Charlie than doing anything else!!!

Charlie has had a busy first week! On Monday we went to the Dr. and she sent us into the hospital Monday afternoon because Charlie had high Bili-levels. So under the lights he went. The little guy did so well. I felt so bad for him, no clothes, silly eye-shades, under the bili-lights. But, after 16 hours, his levels went down and he was able to stop with the lights. However, he had lost a lot of weight (14% of his birth-weight)- so the dr.'s and nurse's were concerned. They kept Charlie and I in the hospital pretty much all day on Tuesday - helping me with feedings. We now have Charlie on a good shedule and the little man is eating up a storm! In two days he gained 5 ounces!!! So we have a weight check tomorrow, and then again on Monday and then his 2 week appointment on Wednesday- so hopefully by Wednesday he'll be up to or past his birth weight- as of yesterday, he was 7 lbs 0.4 ounces. :) we're getting there.

Charlie is such a good little baby. He really only gets fussy when he needs to be changed, or wants to eat.

Adam and I are loving every minute (yes, even the sleepless ones).

Here are a few photos of the little man.

Eviction

Well, it looks like Baby Crowson has held out-- we were all thinking he'd come this weekend.... looks like he's waiting to be evicted!

Tomorrow is the day! We'll be going into the hospital at 7 am. We won't have phones on- but will turn them on as soon as he's born and start making calls... I'm really hoping we'll be able to do this by mid-afternoon!!! Let's cross our fingers for a quick delivery!!!!

Today I'm just going stir-crazy... thinking about how my life is about to change in less than 24 hours!!! I'm so ready to just hold him in my arms!!!!

Baby still doesn't have a name... but he will shortly after he's born and before we call people...

Next time we post on here- it will be announcing our new baby!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!

Stay tuned.... We'll have a new addition tomorrow!

Comfy

Well, still no baby. He is quite comfy I guess-- content to just swim around and make us wait :)

my contractions are irregular, but intense. Dr. said that as long as he's still moving, and my water hasn't broken, to just wait until my contractions are regular at 5 min apart-- or until Wednesday morning.

At least I have a light at the end of the tunnel. I keep hearing from everyone about how they had contractions for weeks -- so I am not going to complain. I'm just going to stay positive and wait this out :)

The only down side is just sitting here by myself as Adam is at work. We decided I probably shouldn't be driving while having contractions- so I'm pretty much just stuck finding things to do around here. I try to nap as much as I can since I don't sleep the best at night-

I have also baked two batches of chocolate chip cookies, a chocolate cake, made home-made pizza and tonight did a chicken taco bake. Cooking calms me and also gives me something to do. So if the baby holds out until Wednesday, our house is probably going to look like I'm preparing for a bake sale.

On the plus side, our dog is acting normal again--- she got really mad at us the other day and went to the bathroom in the baby's room. We have spent the last few days giving her attention and she seems to be better now. I expect her to act up once the baby is here too-- we'll just make sure she still gets the attention. She's still very much a puppy and used to being the "only child". She'll get used to the change quickly-- she doesn't have a choice :)

I'll continue to update on my progress.... hopefully next post I have something more to report... I'm crossing my fingers

slow and steady wins the race

Apparently the baby likes have no room- because he's still inside me!! Adam and I keep telling him how much better it is out here, how much fun he'd have... he doesn't seem to be listening. (I suppose I should get used to him not listening to me).

I went to the Dr this morning- they wanted me to come in before my appointment at 1:45 and they hooked me up to the monitors to track my contractions--- there was no pattern to them yet- so they told me to go home and eat something and walk around and then come back for my appointment.

The Dr. checked me and I'm dilated to 1 cm, but I'm very soft is what she said. She doesn't think I will make it to next wed to be induced-- she is thinking I'll probably have this baby by the weekend. Hooray!!!

So adam and I did a lot of walking tonight. And right now my contractions are still at 10 min apart... but much more intense. So, I'm hoping I have some more progression tonight and I get the contractions down to 5 min apart!!!

I'll keep people updated.

The games babies play

Well, I'm sitting here at home right now, with contractions that are 10 min apart- and have been for the last 2 hours. I started having contractions two nights ago-- they were about an hour apart-- then got down to 25 min apart then went back up to 1 hour and have been coming down ever since.

I called the Dr. and they told me that once my contractions are consistently at 5 min apart (so for 45 min)- or if my water breaks- to then call. So, we're just waiting. Could be days... who knows.

I have a Dr. Appointment tomorrow at 1:45 so we'll see how I'm doing when she checks me.

Either way we're still set for induction next Wednesday-- so the nice thing is that by next Wednesday we'll have a baby!! :)

I'll keep everyone posted....

Full Moon

Here is my 37 week photo. Yes, I feel about as big as I look.

I am still feeling fine, but I've really slowed down now, my back hurts a ton and the baby is pretty low and is putting a lot of pressure on me. I'm hoping this all means I'm getting closer to delivery.

Tomorrow is a full moon- so I'm going to test the theory about labor and full moons... I'm guessing in my case there will be no correlation, but one can hope, right??

The plan for next week is for me to work all week and then be done on Friday... giving me next Monday and Tuesday to get stuff in order and just relax before I am induced on Wednesday. I'm still crossing my fingers that by, oh let's say, Wednesday of this coming week, I have him... again, one can hope :)

Full Term and Waiting for a Baby

I am now officially Full Term!! We've made it!!! Now we have about 2 weeks to wait.... either he'll come early or he'll be induced on the 17th.. I'm hoping for him to come on his own next week, but we'll see.. either way, we're so close to baby!!!

i'm feeling good... tired, but good.. :) I'm glad I can still say I'm feeling good!!

I'll have adam take a picture of me. The DR. on wed said I looked liked I had grown a lot in a week!

Wrigley has found her spot in the baby's room. I couldn't find her yesterday and I walked down the hall and saw her just laying on the rug in the baby's room with her toy. It was very cute!!!
