June 17, 2009
The Dr. does not think I'll go before then, and doesn't want me going past that. So, exactly 3 weeks from today, we'll have a baby (unless I don't have him until the 18th....) but either way, we'll start having the baby on that Wed. :)
We'll keep everyone updated

35 weeks
Adam and I went down to Fort Collins today and got pretty much everything else we need right now for the baby. I took the gift cards we got from the shower in Milwaukee and we pretty much got loaded up on diapers, wipes, outfits, toys, bottles, etc.
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind during the pregnancy and given us gifts! It's amazing how much a little baby needs, and Adam and I have been given so many things, that we are all set and ready and so a big thank you to every one!! :)
I have a dr.'s appt on wed... this week starts my every week dr. appt's until I deliver! So now it's just a waiting game. I'm still really high- haven't dropped at all- so i think I still have some time. I am feeling great though- which I am very happy to be able to say at this point!!

And some of you thought I was crazy...
So I get my gate ticket and go through security, get to the gate and play the waiting game. I finally get a ticket and of course it's in the exit aisle, but it's by far one of the two best seats in the house -- on some Frontier planes, the 10th row is missing seats at A and F so there's nothing but leg room in Row 11. Lucky me.
Then this guy who seriously looks like he's been smoking meth all night walks on (It turns out he was just on an extreme caffeine high, more than likely). He's all sweaty and messed up looking and acting aloof and I'm like, "Great." Turns out he was just on that Five-hour energy crap that in addition to making you "alert" also makes yous skin hot, makes you sweat and hyper as hell.
The flight-attendant/wannabe stand-up comedian does his schpiel about where the exit row is, how the bottom of our seats can be used as flotation devices in the event of a water landing between Mpls and Denver (I would presume the event of a water-landing would be in the North Platte... and would make a lot of cutthroat trout shit themselves silly), and of course the oxygen masks and now I'm practically asleep.
We take off, get up in the air and I'm out ... until descent.
Then the guy and I start talking and he tells me how he hasn't slept since Friday. He drove from 2 a.m. Friday from Bozeman, Mont. to Eau Claire, Wis. to be a pallbearer in his grandmother's funeral. He got into Eau Claire around 4 p.m. Saturday and then gets this call from his girlfriend who is pregnant with twins, is due in November and started hemorrhaging. He's been downing five hour energy drinks and Red Bulls to stay awake and is doing anything to get back to Bozeman on Sunday. (That explains the hyper, aloof appearance while boarding the plane since he's so hopped up on caffeine.)
And suddenly my worries of getting home to a pregnant wife don't seem that bad...

The Waiting Game
On Tuesday we had our last Prepared Childbirth Class. We did diapering and swaddling. Adam did great on both. I'm not so hot on the swaddling. We'll get the hang of it though. We also took a tour of the Maternity Floor. Got to see the whole set up- It made it all seem a little more real. They don't have birthing suites like they do back home- just small rooms, but the baby still gets to stay with you the whole time, and there is a couch for the daddies (although it's like a love seat, so poor adam will be hanging off of it!!!). Everyone on the floor seemed really nice- all the nurses - I'm feeling a little more comfortable now, having met some people and seeing the whole area. Everyone kept telling me how I would be better off going to Fort Collins and delivering, how I did not want to have my baby in Cheyenne, but after seeing everything, I think it will be fine and the baby, Adam and I will be well taken care of.
Wednesday Adam left for MN. His sister is getting married today (Saturday). I think it's been hard for the both of us, being away from each other when I'm this close to having the baby-- but he needs to be there for the wedding- his sister needs him, and right now, baby and I are good.. we're just hanging out (with Wrigley too). I have a braxton-hicks contraction every once in awhile. Not a big deal- and I'm feeling just fine... Getting that massage a few weeks ago really helped. I'm still a little achy, but overall, I can't complain... Right now I'm just enjoying the last few weeks of being pregnant.
On Wednesday night I went down to Denver with my friend Brittany and we saw Spamalot. It was very good (it's the 3rd time I've seen it). We were given tickets from the paper, so they were amazing seats- 12 rows from stage- right in the middle!!! The baby loved the music. He was all over the place. It's fun to watch my stomach just move from side to side when he moves. There are some times when you can actually tell where his feet are and where his butt is. I just love sitting and feeling him move around.
I'm learning some of the things he likes-- music being the biggest thing. I have been playing music since the beginning of my pregnancy-- putting the headphones on my belly--- now I just play music on the computer or the cd player and he just moves around. I'm hoping that music calms him when he is born.
Adam comes home tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon I have a "Skype" Shower in Milwaukee with my mom's side of the family. I'm looking forward to it... should be interesting to see how it will all work. I'm just excited that we have the technology to even try something like this. It will be nice when the baby is born and I can get on skype and show him off :) Makes the distance feel a little less some days....
When adam gets back we'll take another picture... my boss was gone all last week and when she got back on Friday she said I had grown a lot in the last week.... so I think from here until the baby is born, we'll take weekly pictures to see the progress!!! :)

Ultrasound 3!

There's baby Crowson :) Isn't he cute!!! :) He was pouting and putting his hands over his face. (Wonder where he learned how to pout!)
So, here's the update-- he's measuring about a week ahead now. I have quite a bit of fluid (within the normal range)- but the doctor said that could be a reason he was measuring big. Everything else looks good- head, heart, limbs, stomach, etc. He is a healthy boy! (and he is quite proud of his little boy parts- he gave us many views of them. The dr. said there is no question he's a boy. He's about 5 lbs 2 oz right now- so he's on track to be about 8.5lbs.
The dr. said he wasn't going to recommend a c-section. He thinks I can deliver the baby. They will make sure that I'm doing ok, and if I'm not progressing after awhile, they'll take him c-section, but they are going to let me try. It does sound like they will induce me the week before the due date (so the week of the 15th)- if I don't have him before that. The dr said they wouldn't let me go to or past my due date, just based on the size of the both of us.
So, now we play the waiting game.

33 Weeks and Finally Updating the Blog!
Ok... for those that have been asking... I'm finally taking time to update the blog!! I'm sorry, I've been really bad the last couple of weeks. I feel like I've been extremely busy!!!
So, what's going on.. let's see.... The baby has still been measuring big.. my last two appointments he was 3 weeks ahead. So right now, as I am at 33 weeks, he is measuring at 36. Right now this means nothing.. Come Tuesday, it might. We have our next (hopefully last) Ultrasound on Tuesday. This is where they will get his weight and measurements (head, shoulders, etc), and see if I can deliver him, or if he is going to need to be born via C-Section. They should also determine at this appointment if they are bumping up my due date. So I will for sure update the blog on Tuesday and let everyone know what we found out.
For the past 4 Tuesdays, Adam and I have been going to a Prepared Childbirth Class at the Hospital. There are 4 other couples- all first time parents. It's a very interesting class... some of the stuff we already knew or read about, but I have found for the most part- the majority of it very helpful. It's also nice to just have time that Adam and I get to spend together. I really enjoy doing the breathing exercises, because it's something between adam and I and I feel like he is part of the experience- he's going to be a good coach! Our last class is this coming Tuesday. We're doing diapering, swaddling, and a tour of the maternity area of the hospital. We're both looking forward to that.
As I type this out, I am washing baby clothes! Little by little I'm getting stuff washed and put away in his room. My friend Kassi came over last week and helped me organize.. it was a huge help!!! I feel like I am ready for the little guy- for the first week at least! ha.
I am still feeling good.. very sore- especially my lower back and legs. My boss is also a massage therapist, so last Friday I got a prego massage.. it was so amazing.. I still feel a lot better from that. Although yesterday I worked at a trade show and was on my feet for the majority of it... I am very very sore and tired today! It's amazing how something as trivial as just standing around takes so much out of you at this point.
I am very happy that overall, I really have had a good pregnancy. I really can't complain. Besides feeling huge, I am just fine!
Baby is moving around a lot- I'm kind of getting a hang of his schedule he's got going on... which right now is nice and backwards (he loves to play at 3am)- we're going to have to work with him on that!!!
We're still discussing names... I'm having a hard time naming him something that is popular right now. Adam doesn't seem to care. We both had fairly common names in grade school, and I never really wanted that for my kid, but adam doesn't seem to mind... so right now, I'm not giving in on Ethan yet, but I won't rule it out completly. I still have my favorites.... we'll see what happens. And yet it would have been simple had he been a girl.. we were in agreement on that name!!!
I'll try to be better about the blog here in the coming weeks. For sure I'll update on Tuesday after our appointment.
